Special Deliveries!

So this is my first blog post using the blogger app for my iPad, so bear with me if the format is screwy. I'm too lazy to watch the tutorial.

The last week has been pretty fun with lots of deliveries! I've been pretty jealous of my bridesmaids and flower girls because all the dresses had arrived but I was still waiting for mine. I was told it wouldn't come until August, but I received a call on Friday and it had arrived! Of course, I dropped everything and rushed right over to Elegant Lace to pick it up!

This is the closest thing to a sneak peak I can offer to you all seeing as the groom occasionally looks at this blog:

Trust me, it's amazing! And they told me I've already lost some weight since my first fitting, yay!

As for the wedding decor, I've been meticulously searching etsy and eBay for lots of special items to make the reception tables unique and things are starting to arrive! Here is a picture of my latest Etsy score and the cute wrapping it came in!

I know, I'm such a tease!

Lots of other decisions have been made lately as well, including invitations and linens. Next up are some big things we have been putting off, such as the cake and wedding rings. Also in the works are finishing the registry and finalizing shower/bachelorette stuff!

A special shout out to Ms. Holly for coming with me to pick up my dress and taking lots of pictures, to my sis Jenn for helping me pick out linens, and to my bridesmaid Sarah for putting together the bachelorette party and helping me with my classes, since they are far from my mind!! In fact, I'm on my way to her house right now to get help with a really annoying paper that was due yesterday, oops!!

Good night all!

Four Months!

When I realized that the wedding is only four months from today, I decided to post something funny to mask the fact that I'm really freaking out on the inside!!! Retro pictures it is!!

Like I mentioned in my last post, Matthew's sister Megan and her two girls came down last weekend, and they brought an old picture of Matthew with them! He doesn't have many pictures from his childhood, so I get really excited when a new one surfaces! That's him up top at age 12 with a neighbor's grandkid.

Here I am fishing in Vermont when I was six years old. Looks like both our mom's were fans of the bowl cuts. Thanks again for the fashionable memories MOM!!!!!! It's kind of creepy how much we look alike, but then again maybe it's just the haircuts!

Four months! I was fine with 5 months and 6 months, but 4 just seems like such a small number!! So much to do, but every day we are making more decisions and I have to admit it's all coming together quite nicely! It's hard not to share everything on here, I want people to be surprised!!

Happy Fourth of July People! Be safe and BBQ on!

Flower Girls

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but most of the wedding stuff I've been up to has been highly confidential! However, last weekend Matthew's sister Megan, and her two girls Cloe and Claudia came down to do a little flower girl dress shopping!

So here is the first official sneak peak. Ready? Here you go . . .

So I don't think I have an official wedding color. I'm kind of working with a few but yellow is my favorite color and I always knew I had to have lots and lots of it! None of the bridesmaids were very excited about wearing yellow, and since I remember how crappy being stuck in an ugly orange dress felt like (thanks again Melanie. No, really, thanks!), I decided to go in another direction there. However, I was super excited when my soon-to-be nieces Cloe and Claudia told me that they love it, so yellow flower girl dresses it is!

The perk about not having any friends with daughters who are walking yet is that I was able to choose 12 year old flower girls which allowed me to pick some gorgeous, more grown-up dresses. Seriously, they are amazing! I want one!! We got them from New York & Co. and they were a steal!

The rest of their visit was a blast! Lots of shopping and eating and getting the tour of all the fun spots where Matthew and Megan used to hang out at as kids.

Me and the girls posing at Santana Row.

I went to visit the paper store at Santana Row and realized it was called The Paper Source. I had no idea Paper Source was a real store!!! That's where I bought the envelopes and labels for the Save the Dates but I had ordered them online. I walked in and was surrounded by all the wonderful papers, envelopes and stamps that I have been obsessing over for the last few months! I was in heaven!! I'm planning on doing the invitations myself, so it was so great seeing everything up close and in person!! Can't wait to go back!!!

And of course I found time to do some cooking when they were here. I got one of those angel food bundt cake thingys from the store, cut it up and made french toast out of it. Then I reassembled the cake and topped it with maple syrup, strawberries and whipped cream. It tasted more like dessert than breakfast! No worries, we burned it off shopping!! Get the recipe for French Toasted Angel Food Cake here! I found it on Pinterest of course!

We rushed home from shopping to help Megan and the girls get ready for an anniversary party of some family friends. Can you believe the girls are only 12!! I curled Cloe's hair for her, so much easier to curl someone else's hair than your own! I hope I have girls someday, it was so much fun!

I love my new family!!!!
