Wedding reflections . . .

I just finished another class, which means I have two wonderful weeks where I get to do whatever the hell I want when I get off of work yay!!!

I think the stress of the wedding is starting to wear off and I'm finally able to start dealing with a lot of the aftermath. I just finished the second round of thank you cards (get off my back, I heard I have up to a year!), and I'm starting to work on our wedding picture album. I feel bad because I was so excited to get the wedding pictures back until I realized there were almost 2,000 of them! I was a little overwhelmed and pulled a Scarlett O'Hara and decided to deal with them later.

Well, it's later! As I start to go through the pictures while creating our album, I thought I would start sharing some and sharing some advice for people who are planning their own weddings. Everyone always asks me advice and I'm always caught off guard, but looking through all the pictures is jogging my memory! I'll also sneak in some funny stories and thank you's to people too!

The gorgeous house we rented for the weekend.

In lieu of a doorbell you turned the knob and an old telephone sound would ring!

One of my favorite pics of the whole day! I'm so glad that Matthew and I didn't hide from each other that day. It was so nice to wake up next to him and spend time together before all the craziness. It made me feel like a team and in it together!

I loved the bright blue pop of the back door of the rental house and really happy Ryon:Lockhart Photography chose it as the backdrop for my garter which I got from Sophia Unique Boutique on Etsy!

I just love this pic of my sissies helping each other getting ready!

The only thing I knew for certain when I began to plan this thing was I had
to wear sapphire earrings! I found these gems from Emmagemshop on Etsy.

This is the brooch I attached to my bouquet. It was my great grandmother's
and the flower reminded me of the dandelion motif we had going.

My gift to Matthew was this set of small comb cufflinks. I had commissioned them from
Frawn on Etsy. She has so much amazing and modern jewelry made from natural
materials, I wish I could buy the whole store!

Bobby and I showing off our matching tattoos! Awe kitty!

Another great feature at the rental house: the dinner bell!

Leaving for Walden West. Don't I look sexy and fashionable?

Ok, this is one thing I would do differently. At the time, I had seen fancy hangers for wedding dresses
but I thought it was a frivolous purchase. However, the plain old plastic hanger I used instead ended up
looking ridiculous! Luckily, Tim was able to hide it behind these branches in the other shots! Whew!

I don't know why I like this picture of Sarah so much. Perhaps
because it reminds me of all the anticipation!

I love how blue my eyes look here!

According to Gail, those buttons were a pain in the arse!

And done!

Another thing I would do differently: not insist on Liv putting a
Scabiosa in Matthew's boutonniere! It's the structural-looking flower
in the middle bout here. It's one of my favorite flowers but it was constantly
getting stuck in either my hair or veil!

I also would have played Gangham Style had I known Psy was in the wedding! ; )

Matthew's wedding shoes. I'm actually not a big fan of men's dress shoes
and suggested getting a new swanky pair of skate shoes instead!

Glamour shot of my bouquet. It dried beautifully too, I should do an after pic!

This is hands down one of my favorite pictures of him ever!! I'm a lucky girl!

Alrighty, I think that's about all the wedding pics I can go through in one night. I will definitely be going through more in the new few weeks and will do some more picture posts soon!

Good night!
Kelly Smallcombe
