Christmas Happenings

So there are two reasons I haven't really been posting lately. First, blogging can be pretty time consuming using my ancient laptop and the blogger app was really confusing. However, I just downloaded the blog press app which is much easier and I am now able to make nice posts from the comfort of my iPad, yay! With this app I am able to post pictures where ever I want and can put writing in between picture breaks, which I just couldn't figure out how to do with the blogger app!

The other reason is we have been pretty busy with all the Christmas stuff going on. Here is a recap of the last few weeks:

Since we haven't fully recovered from the wedding, we decided not to get a big tree this year, but we did go over to help the van der Kleuts decorate theirs!

Christmas Spider-Man came to help out too!

Such a cute pair!

Alex couldn't go with Jenn to her company's Christmas party but I gladly stepped in, especially cause Gail works for the same company and I just couldn't resist a sister reunion in the city!

We decided to take the train, which gave me time to do an awesome up-do on Jenn!

Sister shot!

Jenn and Gail work for Patch, which is a system of local news websites run by AOL. The party took place at the Minna Gallery. There were a lots of great photographs in the area where our party took place and I didn't get too many photos.

Although, I just couldn't resist taking picture of this anatomically correct Trojan horse we were sitting by haha!

The mirrors in their bathrooms were pretty spot on, if I do say so myself!

Jenn trying to hail a cab back to the train. I miss the city, need to get up there more!

We finally got around to putting up our mini-tree. Matthew surprised me with this adorable 3 foot tree a few years back when I was living by myself in that one bedroom in Campbell. I didn't feel like making such a fuss for just little old me but found myself getting sad without a tree and Matthew surprised me with this little fake tree.

We have a few new ornaments this year too!

We picked up this straw ornament on our honeymoon road trip in Solvang. Crap, I haven't done that blog yet, oops!

Matthew's mom gave us this Twilight Edward and Bella ornament as the groom gag gift at my bridal shower. So cute and it will always make us think of our wedding!

I'm obsessed with putting stars on the top of Christmas trees so I had to find a mini-star to top this tree as well! Sadly, it doesn't light up though : (

Connor had his first school recital last week and my family and I were able to attend a mid-day performance. He did terrific, even though he was stage fright (his words, not a typo haha!). I was able to conduct a little photo session with Ollie before and after the recital though!

Such a Christmas Cutie!

Connor wasn't up to any photos after the recital, this was the best I could do!

Friday was the Christmas party for my company. It was so fun to get all dressed up and show off my new husband to everyone! We took silly pictures and danced our asses off!

Trying out some of the props for the photo booth!

The theme was "It's All Aglow" because we strive to be the light in the dark for children and families affected by Autism. I really had to pinch myself a few times that night. All those years waiting tables and bartending these types of events, I never thought I would ever be able to have a real job where I got to attend these types of events instead of work them. And to be able to do something that really matters and makes a difference and to work with such great people and to have Matthew at my side, ugh! My life really is a dream come true right now, I'm a lucky, happy girl!

Finally, we had an early Christmas get together with my family because Matthew and I will be heading up to Sacramento to spend time with the other half of our crazy family! We all decided to just buy gifts for the boys this year, which kept it fun and simple (except for that awesome picture frame Jenn and Alex gave us!).

Ollie is obsessed with Woody from Toy Story and he was so excited when he saw the shirt we got him he said "Put on now!" Connor loved the Bey Blade set we got him too, but of course would not allow pictures!

Since we are driving up to Sacramento on Christmas Eve, Matthew and I decided to do our Christmas tonight. I was so excited to shop in the husband section of the greeting card aisle this year! No more "Someone Special" or "Significant Other" cards for this girl, no sir-ee!

I had fun with the present tags too!

And that's what we have been up to! We have been waiting for the wedding pictures to do our Christmas cards, but you can all expect a New Years Card from us very soon instead! I'll post a blog when we get back from Sac Town!

Happy Holidays!
